In the Bite-Size Arts Ensemble, we believe in a simple process to help you unlock your entrepreneurial potential:

WE TEACH YOU.
YOU TEACH OTHERS.
EVERYBODY LEARNS.

But how exactly does it work?  Let us explain:

 #1 - We Teach You

The Bite-Size Arts Ensemble is an introduction to entrepreneurship for artists of all disciplines. Through our classroom curriculum, and the development of your own BIte-Size Arts Ensemble we will help you learn the fundamentals required to become an arts entrepreneur. We will teach you the rudimentary prerequisites to building a business, which begins with the way you communicate and how you respond to challenges that every entrepreneur faces.  Even the strongest gymnast has to warm-up and practice new routines, and just like them, you need to become more agile before you can begin to learn how to build a creative business.

By joining us in a Bite-Size Arts Ensemble experience you will learn how to:

  • Get out of your comfort zone.
  • Be willing to fail.
  • Use improvisation techniques to manage people and situations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and fluency in your actions and thinking
  • And lastly be able to bring all these tools together and use them all in a cohesive way.

As you learn these basic tenants through our classroom and performance based experience, we will help you identify your unique personal perspectives, talents and experiences and get you to blend them together into a cohesive brand.

 #2 - You Teach Others

After you develop your show and workshop and begin to gel as an ensemble, we'll help you take another steps towards becoming an arts entrepreneur as you go out into the community and share with others the very tools you just used to break through your own creative obstacles.  This experience can come in many different shapes and flavors.

You may find yourself exploring new outlets for your artistry by going into K-12 after school programs and teaching creative workshops in your specific field that we will help you solidify your command of the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. You may take your newly assembled show and workshop package into a corporation to teach employees how to unlock their imaginations as you present your own business concept as an example.

The Bite-Size Arts Ensemble has built relationships with organizations and venues all over Chicago that can serve your professional development as you serve the community.  And once you've formed your ensemble and start performing in the community, you'll have the chance to become part of our Extended Ensemble and be eligible for paying engagements and further professional opportunities long after the course is over.

IT'S OKAY IF YOU DON'T YET KNOW YOUR IMAGINATION IS WORTH.

After all, it's a tough question to answer.  But with a Bite-Size Arts Ensemble experience under your belt, you'll be better equipped to finally answer that question for yourself once and for all

Students who complete a Bite-Size Arts Ensemble Experience workshop will have:

  • One or several clear business ideas that match their skills and interests.
  • Experience testing their idea in real work scenarios.
  • An introduction to arts entrepreneurship to see if it is a path you are interested in further developing.
  • A network of fellow aspiring artists and entrepreneurs to strengthen their support system to help you as you grow your idea into a business.
  • The ability to go forward as an ensemble and teach imagination training in the community and to continue to refine and iterate your idea.
  • An original 45-minute solo taught workshop that is perfect for outside festival submissions.
