Flourish Studios and The Institute for Arts Entrepreneurship™ are thrilled to announce that the Artisan Boutique program will be celebrating its Grand Opening Thursday, October 7th from 7-9 pm.  This new innovative program currently has more than 15 local emerging artisans.

ING Direct USA to Host Institute for Arts Entrepreneurship's Create.Innovate. Repeat.
Networking Event

ING DIRECT USA will host Create. Innovate. Repeat., a networking event for artists and entrepreneurs sponsored by the Institute for Arts Entrepreneurship on Thursday, June 10 from 7-9 pm at its Chicago CafĂ© at 21 E. Chestnut Street.  The event is free of charge; refreshments will be served.

Brief presentations will be interspersed with opportunities for entrepreneurs and artists to meet and exchange ideas and creative concepts.

“If you’re an artist who would like to learn how to earn a living from your artistry, or an entrepreneur who would like to launch or build on an arts-based business, Create. Innovate. Repeat., can help provide the inspiration and contacts you need to move forward,” says Lisa Canning, founder of the Institute for Arts Entrepreneurship.

Learn How to Promote Yourself on a Budget at Flourish Artisan Speaker Event

Flourish Studios and the Institute For Arts Entrepreneurship welcome PR Chicago owner Toni Antonetti as the next installment in the Flourish Artisan Program Speaker Series.  Toni will be pulling from her more than 20 years of experience in marketing and public relations to share with visual artists strategies on How to Promote Yourself On A Shoestring Budget.  This event takes place on Thursday, Aug. 12 at 7pm.

The IAE Welcomes Norwegian Ensemble Free Theater Program To The U.S. This Fall

The Institute for Arts Entrepreneurship welcomes the Norway-based Ensemble Free Theater (EFT) to Chicago for a 12-week residency that will feature courses in directing, playwriting, movement and composition. Artistic director Brendan McCall in collaboration with the IAE and its founder, Lisa Canning, will lead the program, which starts this fall. Students from Norway also will be creating and developing original works to premiere on the Chicago stage at the Greenhouse Theater, 2257 N Lincoln,  and the Gorilla Tango Theater, 1919 N.Milwaukee, Chicago.

Produce Yourself Workshop For Independent Theatre Producers Coming Saturday, August 7th to Gorilla Tango

For independent theatre producers, putting on a production is only half the battle.  In our Produce Yourself workshop, we're going to look at how to get an audience and keep them connected to your work by discussing strategies and creating a marketing plan that will guide you from the minute you book the theatre to long after the show is over.  This workshop is free for select Gorilla Tango producers or $50 general registration and takes place Saturday, August 7th from 12-3 at the Gorilla Tango Theatre.

We love fairs and festivals and getting the chance to see artists who are making a living from their creativity.  And one of the biggest festivals in the country is taking place this weekend at the 19th Annual Chicago Tribune Magnificent Mile Art Festival.  The IAE will be there handing out our No More Starving Artist buttons, so be sure to stop by, check out some amazing artwork and grab yourself a button to show your support!

Two great events coming up in early July: Discover Your Why and Create.Innovate.Repeat!

Our founder, Lisa Canning, will be speaking as part of the Flourish Artisan Program Speaker Series in a presentation called Discover Your Why. Why do you do what you do? Do your patrons know?  Do YOU know?  Come to this innovative workshop and bring your marketing materials, your elevator speech or your product and share your story with Lisa, who will help you learn how to deepen your why, allowing it to draw more of your paying audience to you and your creative work.  This event takes place Thursday, July 8th @ 7pm at Flourish Studios.  Registration is $10 for general public and free for Artisan Program participants.

The IAE Teams Up With Gorilla Tango Capital to Launch Creative Enterprise Microfinance Fund
The Institute For Arts Entrepreneurship is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with Gorilla Tango Capital in Chicago, IL to form the Creative Enterprise Microfinance Fund which will provide up to $10,000 of financing to qualified creative enterprise start-ups or small businesses that have successfully completed the IAE's 2-week business plan development Boost Camp.
